Ryanair has launched its very first “buy a single, get a single no cost” sale in a bid to improve flagging passenger quantities.

Shoppers who ebook a flight ahead of midnight on Thursday for travel up to December fourteen on 1,600 routes will get a second ticket at no added charge.

The move follows the airline’s determination to further decrease functions owing to coronavirus travel limitations.

Its ability in October will be 40pc of 2019 degrees, compared with the 50pc it beforehand announced.

Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary explained demand from customers for long term bookings was awful.

“Into November and December our ahead bookings are functioning at all around 10pc – that’s about a quarter of in which they would generally be at this time of the calendar year,” he instructed Sky Information.

“We cannot rule out position losses but in Ryanair we’re surely desperately doing work with our men and women to prevent them.”
