French Link has received two individual takeover approaches from opportunity suitors, sending the battling retailer’s shares a two-thirds better in early morning trading. 

Retail investor Spotlight Manufacturers has approached the firm regarding a takeover bid with backing from restructuring and investment decision company Gordon Brothers, which purchased the Laura Ashley brand name very last yr. 

The retailer said it had also received a individual opportunity offer from brand name investment decision system Go World Retail. 

French Link, which is valued at all over £15m, explained: “Discussions with both equally Spotlight and Go World remain at a pretty early stage. Accordingly, there can be no certainty that an offer will be manufactured, nor as to the conditions on which any offer could be manufactured.”

The brand had been battling prior to the pandemic struck – it has not been rewarding in almost a 10 years – but rolling lockdowns only included to its woes.
